Dandadan is a story by Yukinobu Tatsu about a high school girl and her classmate who are on opposite sides of the paranormal spectrum:

  Momo Ayase is a high school girl from a family of spirit mediums, while Okarun is an occult fanatic and UFO enthusiast. 
• Plot

  The two clash over their beliefs in ghosts and aliens, but set out to prove each other wrong. They are helped by Momo's high school crush and a spirit granny. 
• Other details

  The story involves a nerd fighting aliens and powerful spirits who are vying for the secret power of Momo's family jewel. The story also includes: 

  • Aira Shiratori, a lovable idiot who disrupts the main pair's search 
  • Frequent intense violence, including characters being beaten bloody with bats and a character going up in flames 
  • Sci-fi violence, such as explosions, weapons, and alien/ghosts attacks

The TV series Dandadan is scheduled to begin regular broadcast in October 2024. The first three episodes, titled DAN DA DAN: FIRST ENCOUNTER, were pre-screened in theaters on September 13, 2024.
